Lichfield has a great sporting background and has lots to offer however, there is no safe spaces for nurturing and improving running and athletics tallent over our district. 

Over the last 4 years Lichfields running and athletics scene has gone from strength to strength with 3 new running clubs being setup, a new triathlon club and and a weekly Parkrun. All of this has seen the sporting community come together to get fit, stay healthy and do what they enjoy. 

The issue is that there is no space space for people to be able to run, train or compete without having to travel. Speaking to local junior atheletes and adults alike they all have to travel over 30 minuites to the nearest running and athletics facility. 

We want to see an athletics and running facility discussed at council with the aim of having such idea added to the local area plan for inclusion at either Lichfield Sports Club or at the Lichfield leisure centre.
