The refugees in hungerstrike on Lesbos Island Invite the world to a demonstration: Solidarity with Refugees. Arash Hampay, refugee on lesbos island states: On November 20, at 5:00 pm, we will hold a demonstration in Mitylini, Lesvos, Greece to protest the EU and the United Nations’ violent, imperialist, inhumane policies. We call this protest to denounce the fascist treatment and systematic human rights violations the EU is perpetrating against thousands of refugees in Lesvos and all Greek “hotspot” islands. We call this protest to demand the Greek authorities #OpentheIslands. We stand in solidarity with the displaced women, men and children who fled the bombs of Europe and the US and sought refuge with the people of Europe, only to find that their governments and the United Nations keep refugees as hostages in concentration camps, on islands at the outskirts of Europe, which they do not let them leave, and from where many are deported to unsafe countries. We call on all citizens around the world to join our demand that the authorities #OpentheIslands on November 21, that they #OpentheBorders and release the refugees from prison. #TheseWallsMustFall. In the streets of your city, stand in solidarity with refugees. Denounce the governments that have sponsored the displacement of thousands of people they now deny shelter and basic human dignity to. This time we will see our victory over the governments and over the institutionalised barbarity we are witnessing in Lesvos.
