I am writing this petition as a concerned resident of Denair. Our town is a close-knit community, home to families and individuals who value peace and security.  However, over the recent months, our community has witnessed an alarming rise in crime rates.  Without a dedicated law enforcement presence, we feel increasingly vulnerable in our own homes.

Denair currently lacks a full time Assigned Patrol Deputy (APD). This absence has left a significant gap in our town's safety measure, contributing to the increasing occurrences of gang activity, theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities.  Our residents deserve to feel safe and secure, and we strongly believe that establishing a full time APD will significantly deter crime and enhance the quality of life in our community.

The presence of an APD would provide numerous benefits.  For one, it would ensure that there is always a law enforcement officer available to address immediate safety concerns, respond quickly to emergencies, and work closely with the community to build trust and cooperation. Such a presence is essential for proactive crime prevention, as it empowers residents to collaborate in keeping our town secure.  

Moreover, an APD would play a critical role in community engagement by organizing safety workshops, participating in local events, and fostering positive relationships between the public and the police force.  This proactive engagement would not only prevent crime but also help in educating our community about safety practices.

Statistics show that communities with proactive and consistent law enforcement presence tend to have lower crime rates. By investing in a full time APD for Denair, we are investing in the safety and future of our town.
