ErongoRED has been scheduling maintenance jobs that keeps Omaruru without electricity from morning to evening on busy days like end of the month. Notices for these outages are not only given at  short notices if given but rob many businesses of income and cause losses to many business with no alternative power sources such as backup generators of solar energy.

Visitors to the town from surrounding villages and farms especially the elderly end up wasting their time, energy and resources because they are turned away as  businesses and government ministries cannot serve them. 

These are not accidental outages but planned and scheduled, NCCIomaruru, Omaruru Ratepayers Association (ORA) and residents of Omaruru are herewith petitioning ErongoRED  to plan all maintenance on less busy days like mid-month sundays and holidays to reduce the looses.  Please sign this petition to support this unfair treatment of Omaruru residents and businesses by ErongoRED.
