Ontarians, mostly college and university students, ask Canada's Parliamentarians to:
Support Iranian movement for women's rights and establishing freedom and democracy in Iran and,
Oppose the brutal regime in Iran in an effective way.
Majority of Iranians not only oppose this regime but they are also angry with the regime and its anti-Iranian policies. Harsh economic, intolerable social, and backward political conditions are the root causes of Iranians' anger. They are ready and determined to use any trigger to pour in the streets and remove this regime and replace it with a democratically elected government by and for Iranians. Last year's widespread demonstrations, which shocked the leadership of this regime, were triggered by the death of Mahsa Amini. The level of demonstrations and the regime's reactions, indicate the seriousness of the battle between Iranians and this regime.
Democratic and freedom loving governments around the world have to make a choice. They are either with this brutal regime by tolerating or ignoring its actions, or on the side of the people of Iran. Actions like sanctions, condemnations and diplomatic standings, on their own, have not been effective enough against this regime, or strong enough in support of the Iranians .
This petition asks for the following measures that could be more effective:
- Adding IRGC and the regime's Ministry of Information (MOI) , the main tools of the regime's oppression, to the list of terrorist organizations. This act could seriously impair the regime's oppressive and terrorist ability and strengthen Iranian resistance and the peace movement in the region.
- Expelling current and former officials of the regime from Canada. This act will send a strong message that those who implement this regime's anti democratic policies are not welcomed in the free world.
