Iranian regime's oppression of women and dehumanizing them is a basis for its power.  This should be recognized as gender apartheid and dealt with accordingly. 

The recent protests which were sparked by death of a young woman being detained by the morality police, have been mainly lead by the Iranian women.

It is unprecedented and extremely courageous to see school girls, as young as 12, marching in streets and chanting against this regime.  This could be the reason behind the poisoning of schoolgirls in the last few months.

Free and politically active women could be serious threat to the theocratic dictatorship in Iran.
