The Issue

Our community in Tioga, Pennsylvania, is currently facing a significant challenge with the growing population of homeless cats. Many of us have observed how other boroughs have effectively managed this issue through a humane method known as Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR). By humanely capturing these free-roaming cats, spaying or neutering them, administering rabies and FVRCP vaccines, and returning them to their environment, they've seen remarkable results.

Sadly, Tioga Borough has not allocated any funds towards this initiative, leaving local residents, animal shelters, and rescue centers overwhelmed. We are bearing the financial burden of trying to manage this situation, and it's becoming increasingly unsustainable.

Every unfixed female cat can produce 6-8 kittens multiple times a year. These kittens, if left unchecked, grow into adults and continue the cycle, further exacerbating the problem and increasing the risk of disease spread. TNVR not only helps in controlling the population but also ensures healthier cat communities.

We are reaching out to our Tioga Borough council with a sincere request: Please allocate funding to support the TNVR program in our town. This initiative has the potential to greatly reduce the number of homeless cats and improve the overall health and safety of both the cats and our community.

By signing this petition, you're not only helping to bring about a sustainable solution to this issue but also supporting a humane approach that has been proven successful in other communities. Sign today and help us make a positive change for Tioga, Pennsylvania.
