Recent events (both positive and negative) in sports have made it obvious that homophobic attitudes are no longer acceptable. Between Kobe Bryant's homophobic slurs and then apology and Suns' CEO Rick Welts' coming out, the time is right for change.

Please sign this petition to get the New England Patriots to make an "It Gets Better" video in support of LGBTQ youth. This video series, started by Dan Savage, features adults explaining that life gets better when one grows up. The San Francisaco Giants just agreed to produce a video, and so should the Patriots. It is especially important, because they play in the first US state to allow same-sex marriage. They should be pioneers and patriots as their name implies.

Letter to The New England Patriots
In light of recent events in sports surrounding homophobic slurs and industry figures "coming out", the time has come for sports teams to stand up for Lesbian, Gay, Transgender and Queer youth. Recent events such as Kobe Bryant's use of homophobic language and subsequent apology make it the right time for the Patriots to be the revolutionaries their name indicates. Please make an "It Gets Better" video in support of LGBT youth. Show the country that sports should be open to all and homophobia is not acceptable. Also, be proud of your home state, the one that led the country in allowing same-sex marriage.
