The Issue

I have been a resident of North Clondalkin my entire life and the Coldcut has always been an integral part of our local area. It’s used by sports club, children play here, and community events are held. This land is more than just a place; it's a part of our community identity and a hub for social interaction and well-being.

The Coldcut has been put up for sale recently which could potentially pave the way for commercial/residential developments instead of preserving it for community use. Such changes would be a significant loss not just to the current residents of North Clondalkin and Palmerstown but also to future generations who would miss out on the invaluable communal space that the Coldcut provides.

We must act now to ensure that the Coldcut remains a community space. I urge South Dublin County Council to purchase the Coldcut land to secure its future as a communal area. Additionally, it is vital for all elected representatives to commit not to re-zone this precious area for other purposes.

Preserving the Coldcut for community use will serve as a testament to our values and priorities as a community that cherishes its public spaces and deeply cares about its social fabric.

Please join me in calling on the South Dublin County Council and our elected representatives to protect the Coldcut and maintain its designation as a community area by signing this petition. Together, we can make sure that the Coldcut remains a place where community thrives.
