Ask Grand Canyon University to Fight Against New Title IX Ruling

The Issue

There is a new ruling towards the Title IX act that will greatly affect survivors and will decrease the number of incidents that are allowed to be reported. These changes to Title IX are going into effect this Friday, August 14th, 2020. The main points of this new ruling include:
Schools will be forced to dismiss any complaints that occur outside campus-controlled buildings and/or activities.
Colleges will be forced to allow live cross-examination by a "representative" of each party's choosing.
Schools will be allowed to drag out the investigation, dragging the students along with it.
Sexual harassment is being redefined to only include instances that are severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive.
Mediation is allowed in cases of sexual assault, rape, relationship violence, and domestic violence.
Religiously-affiliated institutions (this includes GCU) can claim a Title IX exemption even after they are charged with discrimination.
School's obligation to act against sexual harassment is being reduced.
You can only file a complaint against someone who attends your university.

GCU agreed to allow ASGCU to do their "if you see something, say something" campaign last school year and I am hoping that they want to keep this awareness for Title IX going. Please sign and help me show GCU and the school board that it would be in their students' best interest to enact policies that will still allow students to come forward, even if their case would be excluded under the new Title IX guidelines.
