As a vegan I look not just for brands that are all vegan, but also those with a vegan option. Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips were an amazing option for vegan chocolate chip cookies, until recently. It seems as though they have added whole milk powder to their recipe, rendering them no longer vegan. Ghirardelli has plenty of other options, but only this one was the only vegan one. Tons of vegan recipes called for these chips by name and now we (vegans) need to find a new option. By simply removing the milk product, as they did in the past, Ghirardelli would keep all of its loyal vegan fans. Keeping it with this new recipe will definitely disappoint many Vegans worldwide.
