The Issue

Homecoming is a cherished tradition for high school students across the state, serving as an opportunity for students to celebrate school spirit, follow tradition, and create lasting memories. However, at Clear Falls High School, the prioritization of high school students during these events has been increasingly overlooked, leading to a low quantity of products at each venue and reduced accessibility for those whom the event is primarily intended.

The spirit of homecoming lies in its ability to foster a sense of community and belonging among CURRENT high school students. When attendance caps are not preferentially held for high school students, they miss out on an integral part of their high school experience. Reports from previous years indicate that underclassmen and students from other schools have taken a significant number of the food at the carnival, leaving many Clear Falls high school students, especially seniors, without food that in intended for them! This not only diminishes student morale but also negatively impacts their overall high school experience.

Implementing a schedule that gives priority to high school students of the village is not only fair but necessary. By establishing a designated schedule as to where seniors/juniors go first, then sophomores/freshman then lastly, the 8th graders. 8th graders can buy tickets after the indented audience, Clear Falls students, receive everything they want to have a successful high school experience at their homecoming carnival. A seniority focused schedule would ensure that those who deserve to enjoy homecoming have the opportunity to do so.

We urge the Clear Falls administration to take definitive action to prioritize current high school students in line with the original purpose and spirit of homecoming. This commitment would not only honor the district's students' experience but also uphold Clear Creek ISD's reputation of fostering supportive and enriching educational environments.

Please sign this petition to ensure our high school students have the homecoming they deserve. Together, we can make a difference in preserving the essence of this time-honored tradition.
