Hi,   I'm Sara Caspian. I'm a Toronto-based Iranian-Canadian actor. I have a very important message for you today. This is relevant to all of us who reside in Canada: We are in danger more than we know it.  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 

Many of us came to know Canada as a country with a high tolerance for diversity and a very low tolerance for discrimination and injustice. A country that many immigrants like myself have grown to love and care for. Today, I'm here to reveal how certain immigration decisions made by Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada, have been impacting us in ways many of us are not aware of. 

Over the years, Canada Immigration has let many children and relatives of highly influential Islamic Republic of Iran government officials into Canada. The bad news is they are already here, living among us without us knowing who they truly are. The good news is we can do something about it. We have a say in this if we stick together. This petition was created for us to collectively raise our voices to ensure Canada Immigration hears our concerns with this matter. 

As an Iranian, I am absolutely infuriated. As a Canadian, I find it extremely disturbing and unsettling that these people are roaming freely among us. I find it quite terrifying as well, cause I know too well what they're capable of doing. 

These people don't share the same values as us. These are extremely dangerous people, capable of committing horrific crimes beyond the imagination of any democratic nation. These are not just fraudsters, embezzlers, money launderers or spies, these are murderers, misogynists, rapists and terrorists. You've seen what they've been doing to their own people, to their own country. They're the same people in a different uniform. 

These people are among us. Some buy houses, they're our neighbours, we make small talk with them in the gym, some go to the same schools as us, they sit next to us in classes, some work with us, we do business with them, we form friendships with them, not knowing they're connected to one of the most corrupt governments in the Middle-East. This is a regime that imposes a dictatorship on its own people and supports terrorism in other places. 

All the while, us Canadians are working hard to build our country and keep our society safe by being responsible diligent citizens, and all the while, the people of Iran are sacrificing their lives in the name of freedom. The truth is Canada Immigration has been making decisions that threaten our safety, security and well-being here in Canada. Not to mention, the lives of Iranians, here and abroad. 

Lend us your hand in holding Canada Immigration accountable for these decisions and in our call for more transparency. We're asking Canada Immigration to publicly identify these people, deport them and confiscate their wealth. It's important to know these people can easily be identified and their connections with the despicable regime of Islamic Republic of Iran can easily be tracked through their parents, their family members and their businesses. 

Canada Immigration "knowingly" grants them study permits, work permits, permanent residencies and even citizenships. Canada Immigration states that permanent residency is a privilege and not a right. I, along with many others would like to know how this privilege was granted to  these people, while many of us had to work hard and be patient, and go through extensive security background checks "as we should". 

Is this because of the wealth they bring into Canada? If so, that money has been stolen from the people of Iran. This wealth should be confiscated. They should be deported. Many of us would like to know why Canada has been systematically supporting them. Who's going to pay the cost, if not us as a society.

We need to act now to stand up for our values, and to show our support for the people of Iran. Let's exercise our rights. Please sign the petition. We have democracy... Let's not take it for granted. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
