Ask Barnes & Nobles not to close its store at Eastridge Mall!
The Issue
Barnes & Nobles Book Store at Eastridge Mall is starting to clear its shelves in preparation to close its doors permanently on, Jan 11, 2018, after not renewing its lease with the mall. Even being a major retailer, it has become the local bookstore for people living in East San Jose. The store played a pivotal role in the community, leading book drives, author readings, educational programs, and donating to local public schools. It is the only place for many people to buy books, and participate in educational programs, especially for young kids. The mall isn't just closing down another store, but a large part of the surrounding community. We ask that the mall and Barnes & Nobles to reconsider their decision.
There is no public announcement about the closing, and few people know at the moment. Please help spread the word by sharing this petition, reaching out to local news networks, reaching out to Barnes & Nobles and calling mall management.
