Help the elderly tenants of Emerald Towers Apts Action by: Colorado Springs Socialists

The tenants of Emerald Towers apartments who are all 55 years and older have been told they have 21 days to move if they want compensation in the amount of $500 which is a drop in the bucket when securing new housing in Colorado Springs. If the residents take the full 60 days they will receive no compensation and be left to fend for themselves completely. Expecting elderly tenants, many of whom do not have the funds to move, to relocate in such a short period is a violation of human rights. Join us in demanding the regional manager Ashley Jefferson do something about this assault on the rights of some of our cities most vulnerable citizens. Specifically we demand that she implement a crisis plan for each resident that includes having an agency equipped to help each resident locate adequate living arrangements. We also demand that Colorado Springs City Council help in implementing this plan of action for their citizens. This is only one step of many in fighting for basic tenants rights in the city of Colorado Springs.
