Because there is a strong correlation between economic growth and the inclusion of bike paths in communities that offer them, and because active people are also those who bring a higher level of disposable income to communities, as well as raise the quality of life through participation in biking, running, and walking activities, we urge Governor Hutchinson and Arkansas Legislators to include the development of a bicycle path between Hot Springs and Little Rock as the Highway 70 reconstruction gets underway. By including this path as the improvements are taking place the state will save money in the long run. To have such a path available will have a positive economic impact on our communities and our state. It also sends a very welcoming invitation to active families around the country that we are not only the “Natural State,” but we are the state that encourages adventure, exploration, and enjoyment of all the amenities that Arkansas has to offer. We urge you to include this bike path in the Highway 70 reconstruction that is about to begin. Thank you.
