Remove ban on Maalik - مالک
The Issue
میں پاکستان کا شہری پاکستان کا ماک ہوں
یہ زمین یہ لوگ میرے ھیں
اسکے ھکمران میرے مقرر کردہ اور مجھے جوابدے ھیں
Maalik is a film which has complied with all the laws of Pakistan. It has obtained Censor certificates as prescribed by the government and then been blocked at the whims of a few.
After the 18th amendment the Federal government does not have the legal authority to ban a film across the country. By what right is Maalik banned? How can Pevez Rasheed or anybody else decide what a common Pakistani should or should not see?
Is there a class of people that is above the law?
Maalik is no longer a film, its a movement. A freedom movement for end of tyranny and oppression. This is only possible when the law is uniformly applicable to all and the government must lead by example.
We want to see Maalik in Cinemas and the government must immediately lift the illegal ban.
Maalik is a test and we are watching and waiting.
