The colleges of Delhi University are considered to be one the best in the country. Being best in the country, its a common belief that the students have a conductive environment for the studies. However, the real picture is quite different. The students have to go through various harassments, which goes unnoticed by the authorities. In fact, cases like these are not even entertained. 

All the colleges have been instructed to form an Internal Complaint Committee (ICC), however, that has yeilded no benefit. No action is taken against the perpetrator. ICC heads try to suppress the matter, without doing any legitimate investigation. In spite of knowing that something wrong has been done, no ICC member wants to take an action against it. 

The official data shows that complaints through the Delhi University has been less than 5 per year. Its not that the colleges are free from such activities. They are normalized to an extend that no one thinks they are wrong. I, myself, have witness 3 incidents in the past 2-3 months in my college and when I approached ICC, nothing was done. 

There are politically influenced people, who do whatever they want and get away with everything. Even the common students don't have to bear any consequences because ICC is not functional. Hence, sign this petition, so that, we can change the current scenario.
