Save our vital  Bus service

This petition has been launched due to the recent announcement by Arriva to reduce bus services in our community particularly plans to cancel the 117 bus service from the end of February.

The 117 is a vital service that is used by many local residents as a direct route to Leeds the cancellation of this route has potential to leave many people especially the elderly disconnected.

The cutback in service means a number of residents who are reliant on this service will face increasing challenges in particular those who rely this service for work and essential journeys. The cancellation of this service will have a damaging affect on many people’s livelihoods including disproportionate affect on those from lower income backgrounds, young families, elderly and the disabled.

This petition is calling for the cancellation of planned cuts to 117 service and better consultation with communities so that local people can continue to access this service.
