Government brutality against opposition parties has reached the worst limit in recent months. The criminally convicted CM of Sikkim, PS Tamang Golay, had threatened the opposition party SDF that he would get inside peoples homes and attack them in his speech on the 4th of Feburary, 2023.

Since then we have witnessed a string of attacks on SDF party members and the public in general. Even innocent bystanders, students and children have been hurt in the stone pelting by the attackers. 

The police are silent spectators in all these attacks and have not arrested a single criminal till date. 

SDF spokesperson Mr. Ramesh Rai was brutally attacked with rods in his home on the 22nd of February. He was attacked in front of his parents and sisters as they watched helplessly, blood running down his face. 

Similarly Mr. Tenzing Dadul Phenchumpa and Mr. Binod Rai were hunted down by criminals and attacked in broad daylight. The list goes on. Buildings were torched, windows broken, cars destroyed and even innocent bystanders were attacked on video. 

No one is feeling safe in Sikkim.

It is time to act. If the public allow this to continue then soon these criminals will become more empowered and increase their activities. They are supported by the PS Golay government which aims to rule by instilling fear and submission in the hearts of all.
