 Punishment for the Heinous Attack on Foofy the Dog

We, the undersigned animal lovers and concerned citizens, demand immediate legal action against Jovito Fernandes from Benaulim-Navelim for the brutal and senseless shooting of a harmless, loving dog named Foofy. This act of cruelty must not go unpunished.

The Vieira family, known in the community for their compassion and commitment toward rescuing and caring for stray animals, are now dealing with the trauma of seeing their beloved Foofy shot four times — an innocent, voiceless creature who did nothing to deserve such violence.

Foofy had accidentally entered the compound of the Fernandes family — a place he had never been before. Instead of calling for help or handling the situation humanely, the Fernandes family responded with cruelty and vengeance. Tensions between the families may have existed, but taking it out on a helpless animal is beyond inexcusable.

In CCTV footage presented by the Vieira family, the 20-year-old son of Jovito Fernandes is seen roaming the property, clearly hunting the dog. At no point does Foofy show any aggression. If the dog was truly ferocious, as they now claim, why is she not seen barking, chasing, or threatening anyone? The Fernandes family lives in a large house — they could have easily stayed inside and contacted animal control or the authorities.

Instead, they chose violence. Foofy was shot not once, but four times — and though he miraculously survived, he is now in severe pain, enduring physical trauma and emotional distress.

This was not self-defense — it was calculated revenge. A sick attempt to hurt the Vieira family by attacking someone they loved deeply. Foofy is not just a pet; he is a beloved member of their family.

We demand justice:
 • That Jovito Fernandes be arrested and charged under relevant animal cruelty laws for this heinous act.
 • That all individuals who were involved or complicit in this crime, including family members who supported or enabled it, also be investigated and held accountable.
 • That stronger enforcement of animal protection laws be ensured, so incidents like this are never repeated.

Foofy may have survived, but the pain, trauma, and injustice remain. We must speak out for foofy and for every innocent animal who suffers in silence.

Let this case be a message: cruelty to animals will not be tolerated. We call on the authorities to act now and deliver the justice Foofy deserves.

Jovito and his family have to be punished till then we are not going to keep quiet
