The partial adjudication of my unlawful detainment, focused solely on the evidence to used to justify the detention, has been completed. Final arguments will be in February.
It is now clear that the police had no evidence against me and relied entirely on my accusation that Harper advocated for genocide as their grounds to detain me. It's amazing that it took almost ten years just to get to this point.
The leave to appeal the dismissal of the remaining portion of the detainment has been approved by the Supreme Court. Next hearing is on November 21st to set the date for the appeal itself. The Commission, although technically the main respondent, does not oppose the appeal itself.
In the last update, I mentioned two groups that I was following that assist Palestinians in Gaza:
@GazaGreatMinds continues to operate, elevated to full non-profit status, although there have been injuries and losses among the teachers and students. They still have regular spaces, but more often than not you can hear bombings in the background.
@VoicesFromGaza was dissolved in an internal coup that had the egos in the group take over from the empaths. It did not end well for any party involved, including the Palestinians in Gaza. @GazaChronicles is the most viable alternative at the moment, but significant damage has been done to platforming Palestinians in X spaces.
