The government is apparently given infinite leeway by the courts in violating courts processes and the Charter. It's been months and nothing has happened. The matter hasn't even been before a judge for a status update.
The law firm representing me on the matter also doesn't seem to be bothered by the delays. Every time they turn around someone is taking a vacation or having a child. Everything halts when someone else is dealing with their personal life.
Meanwhile, I'm a walking Charter infringement. Getting my matter before a judge on a public record would lay bare the crimes of the State, but there is no rush to do that. My law firm of late has been asking if I'd accept a settlement, despite knowing that I have no intention of doing so. I have to wonder if they have an interest in not embarrassing the establishment they work and receive compensation from on a regular basis.
I may have to begin the search for an out of province lawyer to handle this matter. They still haven't even gotten my medical records fixed, leaving a giant Charter violation to sit and fester and cause on-going issues.
How is anyone supposed to have faith in these institutions when their stewards are so blatantly violating the law they serve for their own self interests?
When corruption becomes so endemic that the system can no longer self-correct, revolution becomes the only alternative. Like a computer with virulent malware infecting the operating system, sometimes the best option is to just wipe the slate clean and start fresh.
