We believe that following the Lockdown in Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland should follow suit! It is better to act now and slow the spread of the virus rather than wait on the peak, then it will be too late and we will have lost many of our elderly and vulnerable. We call on the devolved government of Northern Ireland to follow their own initiative rather than waiting on Boris Johnson as we as a country are in a different situation when compared with the rest of the UK especially when schools on one side of the border are closed but the neighbouring schools are not. Travel restrictions also need to be imposed and tests to be continued to be carried out.
