The Arkansas General Assembly - Representative Camille Bennett has sponsored a bill that is on the table to be voted to take away the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Agriculture department and give it to the University of Arkansas - Fayetteville.

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff once Arkansas Agricultural Mechanical and Normal College has been built on agriculture since its inception in 1873. Since 1921, the "A" in AM&N has stood in the name and the recognition of the institution even now of its University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff days.

UAPB is the only HBCU in Arkansas with a PhD program (Aquaculture and Fisheries). The agriculture department is internationally known as well. This program is very important as it is a historical piece of an Historically Black College and University.

We ask for you to call your local elected official representative, call the Arkansas congressman, FLOOD the Chancellor's office with calls and complains. BUT also protest for actions for this bill will not go any further.
