PUT LOCAL MUSICIANS BACK TO WORK

The Issue

MUSICIANS NEED YOUR HELP! Musicians depend on live performances for their income. Musicians are indeed artists in that they have given their lives to perfect their craft--they do not sit in cozy offices, they give their hearts to their skill for the public. They depend on the booking venue and tips to live. Musicians in live venues are performing to make mortgage/rent, car payments, and to provide for their children. If gyms can reopen and equipment can be reused multiple times, live venues and bars should be allowed to welcome performers back to their stages with limited capacity. Social distancing is much more likely to take place under these conditions than in a gym with heavy breathing and sweat. Citizens can exercise more safely at home. Live music is something that is heart and soul, and puts food on the table for many people who do not have jobs otherwise. Governor, please put a workforce back to work who bring joy to the public and reopen live venues so musicians can once again provide for themselves and their families.
