Yesterday 19/3/26 I delivered flyers to all of Park Avenue (message me if I missed you, apart from those with long steps as I believe your neighbour Sharon has kept you updated) and I've now done 95% of Park View (remainder tomorrow). Kind helpers (Steve, Sarah, Sharon have been helping with other roads)

What an eye opener it was as an outside-of-school-run (sports) event  descended on Park Avenue. Dozens or cars, vans and one of the largest coaches I've seen in a while just parking wherever took their fancy. The Keep clear box outside the school littered with vehicles who just didn't take any notice. Vehicles parking both side of the road so no way could emergency services vehicles get through. 

I spoke to residents who are just thoroughly tired and even depressed at all this day after day. The extra joke with this "event" was this was just BEFORE the afternoon school run, so that hadn't even arrived yet.

How could any school, let alone Ark Academy which had such a well respected history in this town, impose this for 9 years on their neighbours? It defies belief that they just accept this situation as acceptable.

I just pray that beyond the junction of Park Avenue and Park Way nobody has a fire at these times (and that includes the school) . Sorry but the fire service will NOT be able to get through, with parked cars either side , traffic trying to get into the school and traffic u-turning because they cant find spaces there will be a total impasse and lives will be lost.

Yes parents have some responsibility for unthoughtful parking but the ongoing situation is only this bad because ALL traffic is forced up Park View - Park Avenue because the main entrance in Parkstone Road remains CLOSED. 

It is a disgraceful situation which should NEVER have happened

AS this petition is public I would like East Sussex County Council to take note as a matter of urgency. There are NO EXCUSES , this road is NOT SUITABLE for the traffic directed there. I am aware the school never told you when they made the change to the entrance, that was a mistake. So please take action now to make people safe, reopen the main school entrance to lighten the load on this road. Absolutely No coaches, no buses and far fewer cars, Restore the pre 2017 arrangement
