This whole campaign has opened a can of worms as far as Ark Alexandra Academy is concerned.

The chaos with the closed Parkstone Road entrance isn't restricted to the damage in the now heavily used side streets , the road damage, the speeding , illegal parking, and the house shaking.

Now, more and more I have learned how many of these cars don't believe they would be on the school run if this entrance was reopened.

As it stands the Parkstone Road entrance is only open for students to leave for a strict 10 minute period. If they don't leave in this time slot the side gate is locked and they have to exit and walk via the congested and much more dangerous Park Avenue, Park View and then back up Parkstone Road

Yes, the Academy actually makes students walk a quarter of a mile more than they actually need to.

I've heard that many of these totally frustrated parents arrive up to HALF AN HOUR EARLY in the Parkstone Road area to try to secure a legal parking spot which won't hinder residents. They are then left waiting up to 45-50 minutes because they don't know if the children are lucky enough to catch the Parkstone Road brief opening or waiting for  the more likely walk from Park Avenue.

But that's not all, the parents admit they and their kids don't really want to even be on this run as most admit they live in the area of the Conquest/Little Ridge area, less than a mile away. They are quite honest that they would WALK to school because the virtually unused traffic control (which taxpayers paid thousands for) on Parkstone Road is virtually unused and is far safer for their children.

Yes, Ark Alexandra Academy actually succeeded in closing a perfectly good main school entrance , reducing the safeguarding of their students and INCREASING the overall traffic on the school run in the process

More and more we are getting school run parents signing this petition because they are thoroughly cheesed off undertaking needless school runs day after day because they don't believe their children are safe being forced to walk the side roads.

I keep being told how much it was easier when they knew their kids could leave via Parkstone road and they could just pick up and go without sitting around for nearly an hour.

Honestly Ark , how did you ever get away with causing such a community mess including increased petrol usage and more Co2 emissions? Problems  spread far beyond the school neighbourhood? This has to be reversed at the earliest possible opportunity.
