As Arizona State University online students, we seek to enrich ourselves with the college experience as much as possible. The ability to participate in clubs, organizations, and potentially student government makes the traditional college experience more accessible to online students who want that experience. Additionally, online students face their own unique challenges and problems. According to ASU, online students make up more than 30,000 students of ASU's entire student body. This is a large number of students that may benefit from electing their own student body officers.

Penn State World Campus has already established a student government program allowing their online students to be elected to student government and represent their online campus. We would love to see ASU do the same!

We petition ASU to establish a student body government for the ASU online campus in order to enrich the experience and representation of online students. We wish to make this possible in an affordable and feasible way while also enriching the lives of ASU's online students.
