Call a Special Session for the People re: Prop 106 (IRC)

The Issue

1998 voters made a decision to take politics out of the system and voted on Prop 106 in 2000. During the course of 10 years things have changed and we have more politics in this system than ever before. The AZ Constitution states that the appointment of commission members should strive for political balance and fairness.

Colleen Mathis, the listed Independent did not reveal that her husband was the treasurer for a democratic candidate in 2010 or that she and her husband support other democratic candidates.

Colleen Mathis voted with the Democrats to hire Strategic Telemetry as the mapping consultant, the same company that has strong ties to high-profile Democrats.

It was discovered that the contract with Strategic Telemetry was signed before the 7/8/11 IRC meeting, thus not allowing a Motion for Reconsideration of the mapping consultant.

The Commission has required Strategic Telemetry to hold 20 public meetings. The previous commission held three times that for public opinion.

Given these facts it is time to allow the voters of Arizona to repeal Prop 106 or to reaffirm it by placing this back on the ballot.
