Repeal their 9/16/2013 decision to place all of Deer Valley High Schools sports programs on probation.

On September 16, 2013 the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) placed all of the sports programs at Deer Valley High School (DVHS) on probation for the entire 2013-2014 school year. The result of this decision is that none of the sports programs at DVHS will be eligible to participate in any post-season event such as championships and state competition. This was in response to the decision by the Principal and Athletic Administrator to allow two transfer students to play in the season opening football game prior to their being declared eligible to play by the AIA.
As the parent of an athlete at Deer Valley High School, I find this decision heavy handed, dictatorial, and ineffective. By punishing all the student athletes, the AIA is in effect doing nothing. This was a poor decision which should be remedied before it causes more harm than good.
The student athletes at Deer Valley High School work very hard to be the best they can be in their sports. Each of them dedicates over 15 hours per week towards this pursuit while maintaining their grades to remain eligible to participate. It is unfair and viciously mean spirited of the AIA to disregard all of their hard work and punish each of those players merely because the AIA is displeased with the decisions of a few of the school administrators. The effect the AIA's chosen punishment will have on the student body of Deer Valley is disproportionate to their culpability in any wrong doing.
