Despite very clear government guidelines regarding the closure of non essential shops and businesses in the fight against Covid-19 Argos has decided to keep all stores situated within a Sainsbury’s supermarket open claiming they are “key workers” in the fight against this pandemic, yet close all stand alone stores which sell the same goods. 

The very nature of these inset stores is to be small and compact and to take away barriers between staff and customers making social distancing almost impossible in most instances. 

They are actively advertising and encouraging customers to come in and collect items while out for their “essential food shops” despite the goods in Argos being entirely non essential
