Hi parents and cause supporters, 

We got word today that the Archdiocese will go mask optional in our elementary schools as of February 21st. In light of this announcement, plans to protest on February 14th are canceled. Our goal was mask optional and we got it.

If you read the fine print of the policy, it will be pretty easy for them to reinstate masking if case count goes back up even slightly. This is not an all out win for getting masks off our kids or for getting ineffective, harmful COVID mitigation policies out of our schools. 

There's room for a lot of progress.

In light of that, I think this is a good opportunity to build a parent network in case we need to organize to stand up for our kids in the future. If you are interested in that, please add your email to this Survey Monkey link. I will keep this information privately and only use if shit gets real weird again. Here's hoping it doesn't.
