I’m blown away - 2,000 of you clicked through on my last update to do my survey. The results are very revealing, so many of you identifying as catholic yourselves, taking a stand against your own faith to support my push for an apology. Thank you very much. 42% of you that took my survey identified as catholic. Then 25% said they’d been catholic in the past, and the remaining 33% said they were not catholic. But most interesting, 75% of those who identified as catholic said they’d freeze donations to the church until I received an apology from the Archdiocese of Melbourne!! These are people who feel sick about the horrific sex abuse inflicted by a Priest onto my daughter, and ashamed at the refusal of their own church to apologise to me, a 92 yr old woman from South Frankston. One catholic woman, Louisa Brewer, is so angry at the church that she recorded a voice message to shame them into apologising to me. Louisa said she “has chosen to remain catholic, but won’t give another cent” until victims like my Steph are acknowledged. She also said her own 90 yr old devout catholic mother “doesn’t know what to believe anymore”, with the church pretending to care about its victims on the one hand, but continuing to deny them justice on the other.
