I’m sorry it’s taken me a few weeks to get back to you. After my big trip up to Sydney to confront Archbishop Denis Hart at the Royal Commission hearings, I was fairly exhausted, both emotionally and physically. For those of you that didn’t hear in the news, all your help - your thousands of emails and phone calls - forced Denis Hart to finally meet me in person! After 23 years of intimidating me and denying me a meeting - this was huge. Thank you. He said he was sympathetic for my loss of Steph, but refused to apologise for her horrific sex abuse by a Priest. It was heartbreaking to hear him refuse to acknowledge it in person. He said his “hands were tied” in helping me get justice. It’s been suggested to me that I get you to fill in a 3 question quick survey. A lot of catholics have contacted me themselves since I started my petition, expressing their disgust in the Catholic Church for denying me an apology over what happened to Steph. It would be so useful for me to find out how many of you identify as Catholic, and what impact my awful treatment by the church has had on you. Please take a second to fill in this quick (anonymous) survey for me today - http://bit.ly/2m4nvI0 I myself was a devout Catholic for 60 years. I gave tens of thousands of dollars to the Church. Then I found out my precious little girl Stephanie was sexually abused, repeatedly by a creepy Priest under the church’s care. I will not die until they’ve acknowledged the abuse happened and apologised. A heartfelt thanks for all of you lovely people that have supported me, and continue to support me. I now have 52,000 more friends around the country that I ever knew I had. Eileen.
