I’m in disbelief - despite all the abuse and bullying the Catholic church dragged us through, they’ve still got the hide to pretend my daughter’s rape by a Priest didn’t happen. I just got a call from my daughter in law, reading out a statement from the Archdiocese of Melbourne's website, again denying Priest Gerard Mulvale abused Stephanie. Their denial is breaking me. That monster was charged by police with 6 counts of sexual assault against my daughter. He was also charged and convicted for sex abuse against two of Stephanie’s friends. But because Stephanie died before Mulvale was trialled, his charges for her rape were dropped. I’ve been shown a message on social media website Facebook from Archdiocese of Melbourne, about Stephanie and my petition. I don’t actually have Facebook, so I’m going to have to rely on your support. Archbishop Denis Hart, don’t you dare tell me and the public you’re “sympathetic” for my loss. Don’t you dare pretend to care when behind the scenes all you’ve done is fob me off. I have more support now than I’ve had in the 23 years you've been silencing me. I’m not going away easy. Ps many of you that have signed my petition have shared your own tragic experience of abuse by a Catholic Priest. I am so sorry so many of us got pulled into this hell.
