Dear Arcadia Residents,

Arcadia city council has passed a motion to revise the public camping hours from 10 pm - 7 am to 8 pm - 7 am at the Aug 17th city council meeting.  This will allow all personnel to set up and sleep in the tents for 11 hours while families and children are still using the public parks. The change of hours presents significant safety hazards to the general public as the campers’ activities are hidden which might include smoking and other potential illegal activities. 

We strongly request that the Arcadia anti-camping ordinance to restore to the previous designed hours which is between 10 pm to 7 am. 

We also request that the anti-camping ordinance includes below measures in reference to the LA city anti-camping ordinance: 

* No obstruction of streets/sidewalks

* Up to 500 feet from schools, daycares, libraries, and public parks

* Up to 1000 feet from homeless shelters/services

* Up to 500 feet from overpasses, underpasses, and bridges

* Within 5 feet of a building entrance/exit & 10 feet of driveways

To protect the safety of our residents and to maintain a cleaner city, please sign this petition to support the original camping hours (10pm - 7am) and the inclusion of the school boundaries.
