Immediately Move the NMCD Adult Probation and Parole Office at 301

The Issue

11/22/13- Two times in the past 8 months, Monte Vista Elementary School has been put on lockdown or shelter in place due to dangerous people and situations directly related to its proximity to the NMCD Adult Probation and Parole Office across the street.  Several hundred children attend Monte Vista Elementary School, and on any given day, dozens of kindergartners have recess on a playground that faces the Probation and Parole Office.

This level of risk is unacceptable and unecessary, and puts these children in danger.  Elementary school children and adult probationers and parolees do not belong on the same street.

We are parents of Monte Vista Elementary School children and other concerned neighbors who respectfully demand that you put the safety of our children first and do everything in your power to move the NMCD Office immediately.
