April 2024 : Livermore Airport Stealth Development Plan - Give your input

The Issue

Livermore Airport Alert - Secret Focus group on Airport Land Use and Development

IMMEDIATE ACTION:  Livermore Airport ONLINE survey -- Fill in by April 30 to be heard!

https://polco.us/n/res/vote/livermore-ca/livermore-airport

Alert: Livermore has decided to look at options for further development  -- they have admitted they have had Secret Focus groups with aviation and other land users -- without proactive notification the public of this process or including them -- project started in December 2023 or earlier.  City has refused to get details to businesses/members in the Secret Focus groups.

If the Aviation /  Development focus groups say they want AMAZON Cargo, or Air Taxi Service, or Large Jet planes -- that this is what the consultants will report out as what the airport "wants"

After pressure by public citizens, the City is taking input from Citizens:

https://www.livermoreca.gov/departments/public-works/airport/airport-land-use-analysis-development-project

You must contact the city to be heard -- or the only input are the airport developers and aviation industry who want to EXPAND THE AIRPORT

Call to Action:

  1. Fill in Survey now (April 30 closes)

    https://polco.us/n/res/vote/livermore-ca/livermore-airport

      2. Demand specific focus groups -- see email addresses below.  This is important -- or get ready for future

Send an email and demand that the citizens have a majority say in the future development of the airport!  Contact our city council member.

Mr. Cardwell, Livermore City Council

  • Publish the secret focus group meetings and who you have met with
  • Take into account the 1000's of letters, and petitions over the past 5 years as true input -- you already have this input - please take this as submission to the consultants.
  • Put in place a proper citizen stakeholder process -- not just show up to an open house.  Have specific focus groups of citizens.  Enourage citizens to approach you as focus groups -- right now all this is not allowed on the website.  City will meet with aviation stakeholders but not citizens?
  • BE TRANSPARENT AND PROACTIVELY NOTIFY PUBLIC OF ALL MEETINGS AND PUBLICATIONS -- the project has been going on for 5 months with secret meetings and no notification
  • AIRPORT FUTURE USE -- I would like:
    • Maintain a small regional airport
    • Do not expand the airport
    • Do not increase the FBOs or footprint of existing
    • Reduce the noise. It is a real issue.
    • Do not have more Jet traffic.  This can be done by not having larger hangers. Change zoning to reduce the size and height of hangers to further preserve the hillside sight line.

ACT NOW or suffer the consequences.
