The Issue

I recently rented space in the City of Lawrenceville to expand my music school, Zack Boland Music Lessons. Choosing Lawrenceville felt right because not only do we live here, but the city is renowned for its celebration and promotion of all forms of art. The Lawrenceville Arts Commission has been doing tremendous work to enhance our community’s cultural landscape, and I'm thrilled to contribute to these efforts.

As part of establishing our business in the downtown area, we decided to commission a local artist to create a vibrant and artistic sign that would capture the spirit of our music school and complement the city's artistic theme. This sign is not just a piece of advertisement; it represents a blend of local talent and our commitment to the arts-centric vision that Lawrenceville embodies.

Unfortunately, despite our excitement and the positive community feedback, we have encountered a roadblock: our sign has yet to receive approval from the city. This sign is an artistic expression that aligns with Lawrenceville's ongoing pursuit of becoming a hub for the arts. Denying its installation threatens not only the visibility and success of our business but also undermines the inclusive, art-promoting spirit the city is known for.

What we seek is a reconsideration of this decision so that our sign can not only enhance our business presence but also add to the city’s visual art landscape that both residents and visitors love and appreciate.

I urge local citizens, artists, business owners, and art enthusiasts to support this cause and help maintain Lawrenceville's identity as an arts-loving city.

Please sign this petition to show your support in getting our unique and artistic business sign approved by the city authorities. Your signature can make a significant difference in bolstering Lawrenceville's artistic community and promoting local businesses. Let's continue to foster a creative and vibrant cultural environment in Lawrenceville.
