Christen and I are reaching out to you with a heartfelt request. When we started Gem Mint Card Shop, our dream was to create a hub for fellow card enthusiasts, a place where community members could gather, share their passion, and engage in their favorite hobbies right here in DeLand, FL. The love and enthusiasm you've shown us exceeded our wildest expectations, and for that, we are eternally grateful. Thanks to your unwavering support, our shop has experienced incredible growth. However, with growth comes new challenges—we have officially outgrown our current location! We are thrilled to share our plans to move to a new, much larger state-of-the-art facility at the strategic corner of N Spring Garden Ave and Glenwood Road by 2026.

To make this vision a reality, we need the Volusia County Council to approve the rezoning of the land at tax parcel 603100000631, located at the southwest corner of SR 15-A and Glenwood Road in DeLand, from B-2 to B-4. Our partners, Corgan Enterprises, intend to acquire this parcel to construct a 12,000 square foot retail center. This facility is not just about commerce; it will serve as a cornerstone for community engagement and interaction, an ideal location that will be accessible and welcoming for everyone.

The rezoning approval is the pivotal first step in our journey to continue providing the games, cards, and community space you love. If approved, it will not only retain business in our beloved community but also generate jobs, bolster local economic growth, and solidify DeLand's status as a destination for hobbyists and families alike.

We understand that developments of this scale require careful scrutiny, addressing potential concerns ranging from environmental impacts to traffic management. We are committed to working closely with local authorities to ensure that all measures are taken to preserve the integrity and charm of our community, while enhancing it with this exciting new facility.
