Wesmere Elementary School has always been designated as a "walker-only" institution. With the Parkway becoming so congested, it’s getting harder for kids to weave through the chaos safely, and we want to address it before a close call happens.

In light of these dangerous conditions, we urge Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 to:

1. Conduct a comprehensive Hazardous Route Study.

2. Establish a dedicated school bus route for students who must navigate these congested pathways.

Providing a bus route is not just a logistic improvement, I is a fundamental step toward prioritizing the safety of our young students. Statistics from the NHTSA show that pedestrian fatalities have risen by over 50% in the last decade; we cannot wait for an accident to happen before we act.
