Rowen Legge has spent his life in Balmain and has long supported local residents, particularly older community members, through practical help, welfare checks, transport, meals and companionship.
Residents are calling on Council to appoint Rowen as the official caretaker of Elkington Park and allow him to reside in the currently vacant park cottage. This would recognise his years of community service while returning an unused public asset to a valuable community purpose.
