Good morning!
it’s a beautiful day outside, but inside Tuesday’s BOE meeting things weren’t as sunny.
Richard Buccarelli is still not on the operations committee. In order for Mr. Buccarelli to work effectively for our children, it’s become apparent that Mr. Ingrassia must step down from the operations committee first.
At Tuesday’s meeting I requested that Mr. Ingrassia step down voluntarily in order to restore the public’s trust and to create a vacancy for Mr Buccarelli. (Two other committee members offered up their seats, but it needs to be Mr. Ingrassia’s seat). I expressed to the board that this change would allow them to move forward in a positive manner.
Additionally, I feel that brushing potential confidentiality violations, by the board president, under the rug also undermines public trust in the board. Allowing an independent investigation is required to restore this trust.
Continued public interest and pressure is unfortunately required to keep this board honest and on track. I’m asking you to please write the board of education asking for Mr. Ingrassia to step down from the operations committee and to reconsider investigating the confidentiality breach.
