Appoint a Special Prosecutor to Review Clinton Email Scandal
The Issue
Secretary Hillary Clinton violated the law, federal government rules and regulations, lied about the extent of her illegal activity, transmitted classified material, and ran multiple private servers at both her mansion and with unauthorized contractors.
Let's be clear, the FBI admitted Hillary Clinton violated the law.
Today, the FBI admitted as much. They only declined to recommend charges to prosecutors because they said "no reasonable prosecutor" would act. We don't know exactly what FBI Director James Comey meant by that after making the case because he offered our media no time to answer questions.
This isn't how America is supposed to work.
I'm calling on Congress to appoint a Special Prosecutor. I don't want to rehash this debate. This shouldn't be partisan.
Not only are we just now learning that Clinton had multiple servers, but Comey said that she lied about transmitting the highest degree of classified materials. 110 at least.
It's been suggested that Hillary Clinton violated, at least, the following laws: 18 U.S. Code § 793, § 798 § 1924, § 2071(b), § 641, § 1505, § 1519, § 1031, § 1346, § 371.
We need a Special Prosecutor, principally, for three reasons:
- What ought to be reviewed is the evidence the FBI collected.
- Investigate whether or not any political pressure was presented with Attorney General Loretta Lynch, witness/suspect former President Bill Clinton, career staff at the FBI, and FBI Director James Comey himself.
- Publish a comprehensive report for the public so that we can end the partisan bickering and rely solely on the law.
Congress must encourage the executive branch to act if they have nothing to hide.
There shouldn't be two Americas, one of the well-connected elite and one of the rest of us.
