I just finished the Season 3 finale of Silo and immediately checked to see when Season 4 comes out, assuming it would be early next year at the latest, so seeing Summer 2027 was a huge disappointment. Honestly, Apple really needs to reconsider that timeline and push the release up to December instead.

The most frustrating part is that this isn't even a season that still needs to be shot. Apple filmed Seasons 3 and 4 back-to-back, with production wrapping back in March 2026. I completely understand that post-production takes real time and a heavy visual effects show requires a proper edit, but December still gives them nine full months of runway. Dragging the release all the way out to next summer pushes the gap to sixteen months, and it is hard to figure out what those extra six months are actually doing for anyone when the footage has been in the vault for so long.

With John Ternus taking over as the new CEO, bumping up the release would be such an easy win and the perfect goodwill gesture to the fanbase right out of the gate. Beyond that, December is just a much better thematic fit for a show like this. Silo is built on mystery and tension, the kind of story where you finish an episode and immediately need to debrief with someone. In July, people are traveling or outside and catching up on TV weeks late, but over the holidays, everyone is stuck indoors with downtime. Gathering around the TV to watch a show like this with family and spending the evening debating what just happened is what everyone actually wants out of holiday viewing. Releasing a show about people trapped in a bunker during the one time of year when we are all crammed inside together just makes way too much sense to pass up.
