Musicians like to use emojis too!

As a fellow cello, I would like there to be more representation for the lower stringed instruments in the emoji world. However, the only stringed instrument with an emoji is one that clearly resembles a violin or a viola. Nobody outside of orchestra probably doesn’t even know what a viola is, so they would assume that it’s just a violin.

This is a fairly simple problem that can be easily fixed, but only by your help.

I believe that the lower strings deserve to be represented within the emoji community just as much as any other instrument. Basses too! They’re also included in the lower strings. What’s one more emoji after the hundreds before it?

Apple and Samsung have the ability to make this well-needed change, it just hasn’t happened yet. This is because they most likely don’t even know about it. We need to make our voice heard among the noise- step up and take a stand for what we truly believe should be taking place in this world. 

If we do this and take action, there is a much better chance for a change that wouldn’t hurt anyone, and would fill a void that has taken place within us cellists souls.

As a cellist, I would greatly appreciate if you signed this petition and helped spread the word. Like I stated before, this is a relatively small problem with a somewhat simple fix. It just hasn’t happened yet.
