Pashto is the native language of the Pashtun people who live in Afghanistan and western Pakistan. There are estimated to be 50-60 million Pashto speakers around the world. Pashto is a member of the Indo-European language family,with the vast majority of those people living in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and the U.S., although there are also communities of Pashto speakers living in the U.K., the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Canada, Qatar, Russia, Australia and etc..
Technological support is key to conserving the rich cultural and linguistic history of the Pashto community and passing it on to future generations. We urge the prominent technology conglomerate Apple, Inc. to extend support of keyboard on their IOS and other services to the Pashto language.
