Hello All,
In a effort to show how Kailyn Lowry and Lindsie Chrisley claim to [now] support the Black Lives Matter movement and want to appear empathetic yet, in the same statement make vain acknowledgements about “white privilege,” I refer you to a Facebook post of Lindsie Chrisley’s.
Lindsie states “I refuse to raise my privileged white son to be ignorant.” She also said she wants to be “a light in this world,” while challenging others to be “the change.
Acknowledging her son’s benefit of “white privilege” during a statement where she says she will not tell “black folks how to feel, protest or mourn” is an insensitive bragging (point) that only serves to create space in a social media post. Her message was not to meet people of color on common ground but, to speak from air of them being beneath her and her son!
There is no need to flaunt the privilege white skin has given her or her son and denied to people of color when sometimes and most pressingly, the right for justice...the right to live and breathe.
After this Facebook post Lindsie then posted on her Instagram account “To all the followers I have lost because I just started posting about Black Lives Matter”...she included a photo of actress Lisa Rinna with her middle finger extended.
The insensitivity of these statements hidden in plain sight demonstrate the ever present racism in America.
During a direct message conversation on Twitter with Lindsie’s close friend and confidant (a YouTuber who has defended Lindsie endlessly) the YouTuber stated that Lindsie is aware of Kailyn Lowry using the “n-word freely” however, “Lindsie is worried about herself and her business.”
Lastly, in a Coffee Convos episode that aired Thursday, July 2, 2020. Kailyn and Lindsie state they have “committed” to teaching their children about racism. Kailyn blames her stereotypical views and the use of racial epithets on “ignorance.”
“Ignorance” is normally the excuse for covert (and overt) forms of racism...ie. plausible deniability
We can not allow racists, bigots, abusers or their defenders....whether they be a organization, company or private citizen to continue to deny their ways and intentions.
Please continue to share this petition. Do not allow Kailyn and Lindsie this platform for insincere “support.” White privilege needs to become a thing of the past for us all to truly be treated equally.
