On December 13, 2016, Apple released iOS 10.2, an update to the operating system which brought, among other new features, brand new iOS Emojis (hereinafter referred to simply as "emojis") as well as updated versions of those available on previous iOS versions.

Many of the emojis that received cosmetic updates in this update were altered by adding more certain elements, such as shading, to create a 3-D effect while still maintaining the original essence.

However one particular emoji suffered an entirely unnecessary overhaul: the emoji Snake, an emoji which has been with us since the beginning. The form of the Snake has shifted from cute and lovable minimalism to well-designed but ultimately unapproachable and cold realism.

The Snake was changed in a way that strips it of its former personality, rendering it completely unrecognizable to its fans. To us this feels like Disney World wiping Mickey Mouse's likeness from the park and replacing him with images of an unfamiliar, anatomically realistic mouse. 

We, the undersigned, applaud Apple for their efforts to bring us new, exciting and diverse emoji sets. However, we feel that the Snake should be reverted back to its iOS 10.1 likeness in a way that adheres to the current design standards while still maintaining the appearance of the Snake we once knew and loved.
